Tuition fees in Romania

Tuition fees in Romania vary-usually between 2000 and 5000 EUR / year, but there are a lot of variables that can slightly change the fee, such as:

Course of Study;

Nationality of the international student;

Country of origin of the student.

For example, Medicine can go between 6000 and 8000 EUR / year, while Music and Arts can be roughly 4000 EUR / year; and a Social Studies degree tuition fee is roughly 2000 EUR / year.

All these costs apply solely to Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, while Ph.Ds in Medicine would go for 5000 EUR / year, PhDs in Social Sciences are usually 2200 EUR / year, and PhDs in Music and Arts are around 4100 EUR / year.

Accommodation, housing, food and other Cost

Romania is based in Eastern Europe, so living expenses and accommodation can be really low for international students.

With a budget of 300 and 500 EUR / month, students will be able to find a great room, live happily, participate in the city’s nightlife, and buy a transport pass.

How to Apply to a Master’s in Romania

Once you’ve decided to study a Master’s degree at a university in Romania, you will have to put together the right documents to prove that you satisfy the university requirements. Do well to provide complete personal information, previous qualifications, financial information, and a personal statement.

What documents do I need to provide to apply in Romania?

Inorder to apply to a university in Romania you will likely be required to provide some of the following documents:

birth certificate;

recent photos;

your passport or national identity card;

one or two reference letters from past employers or teachers;

copies of past diplomas or certificates, including your graduated Bachelor’s degree;

academic transcripts;

letter of intent;

Curriculum Vitae;

Some documented proof that you can support your stay in the country during your studies.

Based on the subject or specialization of your chosen Master’s, you may also be asked to provide scores for additional tests like the GRE, GMAT or LSAT. Do well to check if your study programme requires any of these, or others.

Prove your English skills

Since you’ll study an international degree in English, you’ll be expected to present a language certificate. You’re expected to meet a minimum language score determined by the university, and your test scores shouldn’t be older than 1-2 years. If you fail to meet the minimum language requirements, you will have to improve your language skills and scores by undertaking an English preparation course.

Application deadlines for Romania

The deadlines for applying to a Master’s in Romania are usually during summer (June-July), or in winter (January-February). Bear in mind that some tertiary institutions don’t have application deadlines, which means you can apply whenever you are ready.
