Moscow State University Building
At the time of its erection, the main building of the Moscow State University was the tallest building in the world outside of New York City. However, the MSU building is still the tallest building in Europe until 1990.

The available facilities inside the building include a library, a museum, concert hall, a theater, administrative services, a swimming pool, a police station, a post office, banks and ATMS, a laundry, a hairdresser’s salon, several canteens, shops, cafeterias, a bomb shelter, and lots of other facilities.

Constructed and placed on top of the tower is a large star that weighs 12 tons. The star is large enough to contain a small room and a viewing platform.

The building’s frontages are ornamented with giant statues, clocks, Soviet crests, barometers, thermometers, and carved wheat sheaves. It stands before a terrace featuring statues of male and female students gazing positively into the future. Several other buildings and sports facilities have later been added to the campus including a baseball stadium, which happens to be the only one in Russia. The institution also has a number of dormitory buildings in the Southwest of Moscow.
The Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of Journalism, and The Institute of Asian and African Studies are now in the historical building on Mokhovaya Street. There are several faculty buildings near Manege Square in the centre of Moscow and a number of campuses in Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. Classes also holds on these campuses.
Moscow State University was having 39 faculties and 15 research centres as at September 2009, and the facilities has increased since then. Recently, the school opened a number of small faculties including the Faculty of Physics and Chemistry and Higher School of Television. Admission for International Students
At Moscow State University, the academic year begins in September and ends in June. Different faculties provide full-time studies for BS, MS and Specialist programs. Post-graduate studies offers full-time or part-time programs. At MSU, most programs are taught in Russian.
