Swarthmore College is a renowned private liberal arts-based tertiary institution located in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. Swarthmore College was originally established in 1864 by the Religious Society of Friends, also called the Quakers, but the religious affiliation of the school was dropped sometime in 1906. The Tri-College Consortium makes it possible for students to cross register at any of the three colleges. Swarthmore College is equally a member of the Quaker Consortium, which allows students to cross register at the University of Pennsylvania plus other three colleges.
