    Wellesley College is a renowned private institution for women in Wellesley, Massachusetts. The college focuses on liberal arts and awards 56 majors and over 100 minors in courses such as Anthropology, Linguistics, Psychology, History, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The college was founded sometime in 1870 but classes commenced sometime in 1875. Wellesley College has a massive  campus that sits on an area of more than 500 acres and houses more than 2,500 undergraduate and about 500 graduate students. The campus sits in a suburban setting with natural woodlands and meadows spanning across the area. This article will examine the acceptance rate at Wellesley College.

    Wellesley College operates well-furnished residence facilities for its students. These facilities have residence halls and hostels with more than 95 percent of the Wellesley students reside. The institute equally has tons of facilities for students inorder to give them a perfect university life experience. There are also five dining halls for students living on campus where a meal is served three times a day. You’ll find several vending machines are also present throughout the campus.

    The athletic program of the university houses 13 varsity women’s sports teams which includes basketball, hockey, soccer, softball, and swimming, to mention a few. These teams participate in NCAA Division 3 leagues. The college owns a large sports complex, called the Keohane Sports Center (KSC), for conducting sports activities. KSC has a large pool, a squash court, a 200m racetrack, a climbing wall, a well-furnished gym, and many other sports facilities.

    Wellesley College houses more than 150 student-run organizations that conduct various events and services on campus. These organizations include College Government, Community Action Network, Honor Code Council and many more. Students also run a canteen called Café Hoop that serves late-night snacks and drinks to the residents. Punch’s Alley is a student-organized pub where various dance and music parties are held on a weekly basis.

    Wellesley College Alumni Association (WCAA) consists of more than 1.5 million female members from all over the world. These people are working in the fields of journalism, arts, design, business, politics, and literature. So far, WCAA has produced three Pulitzer Award winners including Margaret Clapp, Geneva Overholser, and Susan Sheehan. Nobel Laureate, Emily Greene Balch, was also a Wellesley graduate.

     Acceptance Rate at Wellesley College

    Wellesley College is a super competitive and selective school with an acceptance rate of just 21 percent. In 2018, the college accepted only 1200 students out of 5500 who apploed. The SAT and ACT requirements for the college are equally high. Average SAT and ACT scores of the selected candidates for the class of 2022 were 1440 (on a scale of 1600) and 31 (on a scale of 36).
