International students can actually study on low tuition at universities in Belarus. That said, you can study abroad in Belarus and obtain higher education degrees at universities, academies and institutes that are not only accredited, but also licensed to teach international students. The Ministry of Education and Science of Belarus controls the quality of educational services done to foreign students.
International students are not obliged to start their study with the preparatory year.
Students from foreign countries are trained at faculties which are available at all medical , Enginering and Managment universities of Belarus. Instruction in all main specialties is provided.
Practical training for students are organized in research and clinical medical centers,practical training, specialized clinics, regional and city hospitals and out-patients clinics where all of necessary conditions for specialists training are present.

Tuition fees for Undergraduate International students.
Generally university education fees for international students range from 1600-1900 Euro, depending on the subject and the institution you’ve chosen. I have broken down the cost as follows:
Techinical Courses Tuition fee – 1900 Euro per year
Management Faculties Tuition fee – 1700 Euro per year
Other faculties Tuition fee – 1600 Euro
Higher Education in Belarus
Belarus has one of the highest student-to-population ratios in Europe. The higher education system in Belarus is seen as prestigious due to its high quality and affordability.
Most academic courses run for 4 years and students can choose to study full time. All higher education establishments are governed by the Ministry of Education in Belarus.
In accordance with the “Code of the Republic of Belarus on learning” to entering the main course, foreign nationals who do not speak Russian, must within one year of study at the preparatory department, where they study Russian language and other subjects. Duration of study is 9 months. Education in the preparatory department, depending on future specialty, the following directions:
- Technical Architectural
Economic Humanitarian
Medical and biological courses.
Duration of Program for Undergraduate
Program of Higher Education the first stage is aimed at training professionals with basic and specialized knowledge and skills. Training is carried out in Russian.
Duration of training: 4 years of development, engineering, 4 years of economic specialties and six years in architecture or architectural design with the assignment of appropriate qualification, such as a mechanical engineer, civil engineer, etc.Education Program of Higher Education the first stage is carried out in 17 departments at National Technical University 103 specialties.Upon successful completion of training issued by diploma of higher education of international standard.
Duration of Program for Postgraduate Student
A foreign citizen has received higher education in the Republic of Belarus, may continue their studies at Masters National Technical University with a training period for 1 year. If the foreign national has received a higher education abroad (at least 4 years) and has a degree of “Bachelor” sciences, it can continue their education in graduate with the apprenticeship of two years. Upon admission to graduate foreigners are interviewed in their specialty.
How to apply to universities in Belarus?
Once you have decided to study at a university in Belarus, you will need to contact the specific institution and send scanned copies of your academic credentials in order to receive an invitation of study and offer letter. To facilitate this, you will need to provide the following documents:
completed online application form
copy of your School result
copy of your passport of your International passport
Once you have done this, you will get an admission decision within 5-6 working days.
Requirements for Visa
Due to the non-exxistence of Belarusian embassies in every country of the world, a Belarusian visa is issued on arrival to Minsk airport in Belarus to citizens of countries such as:
Ghana;
Cameroon;
Sudan;
Maldives (Island);
And other countries without embassies.
If the student has received a letter of invitation to study in Belarus, he\she will be automatically issued a visa on arrival upon presentation of these documents:
Admission letter;
Educational certificate;
Medical fitness documents (medical certificate issued by a national medical state institution);
Birth certificate;
4*6 CM photo for visa record;
Full or half school/tuition fees;
Return ticket.
Please note that documentation of credentials can be supplied in either Russian or Belarusian. If documents are provided in English, French, Spanish or German, accompanying translated copies are required in Russian or Belarusian.
Since academic courses are taught in Russian or Belarusian – most international students will be required to do 9 months language course in Belarus before starting their studies (If your course is not available in English medium).
