To study free in Finland, you will need to submit all your completed application by the stated deadline. Hence, we will be taking you through the application requirements for international students as well as the deadline.
Undergraduate Programs
- If you have completed secondary education,and are in possession of an original school-leaving certificate and qualify for university education in your home country, you are qualify for higher studies in Finland. However, you will be requested to prove your level of English. In some cases, you might be required to take additional qualifying courses/exams.
Master’s programs
- If you are an international student applying for a master’s program at university in Finland, you will be required to be in possession of a relevant bachelor’s or equivalent degree diploma
Application deadlines for Programs at Polytechnics in Finland
- Please note that the study programs conducted in English, the extimated application usually starts 6 months in advance of the beginning of the program. For instance, if your study program starts in autumn, the likely deadlines will be by February. Please ensure that you submit all supporting documentation before the deadline expires in order for your application to be considered. Two months after the deadlines expires, the university of applied sciences/polytechnic will inform whether you have been admitted to the program you applied for. You will have to confirm you accept your study place after that.

- The application period begins around November and runs through February – April depending on the study program. Please, check at the institution website the specific deadline for the course of your choice.
