Spring Arbor University

This is a private, Christian university based in Spring Arbor, Michigan. It was founded in 1873, by then leaders of the Free Methodist Church as an academy for elementary and secondary pupils.Sometime in 1923, a junior section was added to the academy and by 1930 all primary and intermediate sections of the school were dissolved, making it easier for the school to focus it’s attention on the university college courses. Accreditation was given to them by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and happened sometime in 1960, a time when the name Spring Arbor College was coined. Sometime in 2001, the institution achieved university status and was called Spring Arbor University. At this moment, Spring Arbor University’s seeks to breed “a community of learners distinguished by our lifelong involvement in the study and application of the liberal arts, total commitment to Jesus Christ as the perspective for learning, and critical participation in the contemporary world.”

Trinity Christian College

Trinity Christian College is another private, four-year, liberal arts institution based in Palos Heights, Illinois. Founded in 1959, Trinity Christian College was established by a number of businessmen from Chicago who had vested interest in forming an institution that would give students world class quality Christian higher education delivered from the perspective of reformed Christianity.Trinity Christian College is a beautiful suburban campus located some 30 miles outside of Chicago; it’s strategic location makes it possible for students to access a myriad of opportunities ranging from internships,jobs to cultural experiences. This institution continues to rank within the top level schools regionally in the Midwest by U.S. News & World Report. Trinity Christian College has a diverse student body of more than 1,400 students with an average student to faculty ratio which stands at 11 to 1. The institution has a clear mission gotten from its founder and hasn’t deviated from it ever since clearly stated and has not deviated from it- to “provide Biblically informed liberal arts education in the Reformed tradition.”

Bob Jones University

Bob Jones University is equally a private, Christian, liberal arts institution of biblical higher learning based in Greenville, South Carolina. Centuries ago, the college took up a number of moves before it relocated to its present day location in Greenville. Currently, Bob Jones University’s mission has a clear mission which is as follows, “within the cultural and academic soil of liberal arts higher education… to grow Christlike character that is scripturally discipline, others-serving, God-loving, Christ-proclaiming and focused above.” It has a total enrollment figure of well more than 3,000 students, in addition to 2,500 undergraduate students, plus average student to faculty ratio of 12 to 1.

Oklahoma Christian University

Finally, Oklahoma Christian University (abbreviated OC) is a private, coeducational, comprehensive, Christian, liberal arts institution based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It was founded in 1950, OC was called Central Christian College at the time. The University seeks to become a “higher learning community that transforms lives for Christian faith, scholarship, and service.” OC as it’s abbreviated sits on a 200-plus acre campus located in the northeast part of Oklahoma City, which borders the city of Edmond. This beautiful location makes it possible for students to have access to academic, cultural, and recreational benefits that the city offers, within the confines of a safe suburban atmosphere. It gained its accreditation from the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools in 1966, ever since OC has gone on to receive national recognitions from organizations such as U.S. News & World Report and The Princeton Review.

Presently, Oklahoma Christian University has a total enrollment figure of approximately 2,500, plus 2,000 undergraduate students, with an average student to faculty ratio of 13 to 1.Thsre are more than 60 majors and 30 additional areas of study are made available by OC and the University has about five academic divisions, which comprises the College of Engineering and Computer Science; the College of Liberal Arts; and the College of Natural and Health Sciences to mention a few. Graduate courses made available by OC include the following: Master of Accountancy, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Computer Science, Master of Science in Engineering, Master of Arts in Christian Ministry, Master of Divinity, and the Master of Theological Studies. It’s worth indicating that OC is a selective institution, and admits only 59% of applicants and a fantastic overall retention rate of 79% and overall graduation rate of 49%. Financial aid is equally available to students as shown by the fact that almost all (99%) full-time, first year undergraduates were awarded some type of financial support, either in the form of grants or scholarships.
