Gates scholarships are unique full cost scholarships awarded to impressive international students from countries outside the UK to undertake a full time postgraduate program in any course at University of Cambridge.
Number of Scholarships
Gates scholarships are extremely competitive with well over 4000 applicants applying for about 95 scholarship spots.
Scholarship value
The Gates Scholarship covers the entire cost of living and studying at Cambridge, such as: the University Composition Fee and College fees at the appropriate rate, a maintenance allowance for a single student, one economy single airfare at both the beginning and end of the course, and inbound visa costs.
The Trust also considers applications for several types of additional funding on a discretionary basis such as family allowance, conference attendance, fieldwork allowance, some fourth year funding for PhD scholars and hardship funding.
Application process
Applications for the Gates Cambridge scholarship for October 2015 academic year would be opened on the 1st of September 2015.
You should apply for admission as a postgraduate student to the University of Cambridge and a Gates Cambridge Scholarship at the same time, using the one application pack. The deadline for applications is 2 December 2014 for citizens other than the US and 15 October 2014 for US citizens.
