Canadian Mennonite University (CMU), situated in Winnipeg, is a Christian establishment offering academic programs in Sciences, Music, Business, and Arts. The Province of Manitoba commissioned CMU in 1998, and the institution is known for offering excellent scholarships.

Undergraduate Admission Requirements for Regular Students

Manitoba: New for 2020-21

Five full Senior 4S (Specialized), G (General) or U (Dual-University) credits, of which one must be an English 40S.
Minimum 60% average in English 40S.
Cumulative Average should be no less than 70% across English; one other academic subject; and one other 40S, 40G, or 40U course.

Academic Courses
One or more of the following: Biology 40S, Chemistry 40S, Computer Science 40S, Current Topics in First Nations, Metis and Inuit Studies 40S, Geography 40S, Social Studies: Global Issues 40S, Language 40S, History 40S, Mathematics 40S, Physics 40S

Undergraduate Admissions

For international students, applicationsfor September 2020 will not be evaluated for admission until after October 11. The school is expected to post new admissions requirements and a new fee structure soonest. International students must send in their applications by May 15 for fall term and August 15 for winter term.
For Canadian/USA students, they have until November 30 to apply for 2020-2021. A non-refundable application fee of $80 is expected to be paid and the applications submitted for January 2020.
Send in a clear copy of recent transcript and a list of current classes
Submit original official transcripts from high school and any post-secondary institution attended. Transcripts should be submitted as part of the application and transfer credit process become the property of Canadian Mennonite University.
For students who are still completing grade 12 or a post-secondary course of study are expected to submit a copy of their most recent report card/grades and a list of enrolled current courses. Ensure your name, school name, and any necessary identification numbers appear clearly on the copy.
Check your email regularly. If you are qualified for admittance into CMU, you should receive a reply in a couple of weeks.

Admission Requirements

Interested applicants must be qualified to engage in graduate-level theological study. Applicants will have completed a baccalaureate degree from a recognized university or college with a minimum average of ‘B.

International students must meet specific requirements of the country and English language proficiency requirements.

Advanced Standing

Students may be qualified for advanced standing if they have concluded a four-year Bachelor of Arts with a major in Biblical and Theological Studies or its equivalent or courses at the graduate level.

Transfer Credit

Students may be qualified to transfer connected graduate courses from other institutions. CMU’s degree and residency requirements limits the number of credits that can be transferred.

English Language Requirement

For international students whose primary language is not English must also validate proficiency in English by one of the following tests:

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Minimum scores are as follows: 550 for the paper-based TOEFL, 213 for the computer-based TOEFL, and 80 for the Internet-based TOEFL.
Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees (CanTest): Minimum scores are 4.5 in reading and in listening, 4.0 in speaking and in writing.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Min. score of 6.5.
Students may take Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) to prove their English language proficiency. CMU requires a minimum score of 59 on PTE.

Tuition & Fees (2019-20)

Canadian Mennonite University makes it possible for at least 50% of their student body to receive financial aid each year. For Canadian students using the full mean plan and living in the dorm, they are expected to pay about $13,000 (Canadian dollars) for the two semesters of studies at CMU.

For international students (including U.S.) taking full-time (24 credit hours) courses, using the full meal plan and residing in the dorm, they are expected to pay about $16,000 (Canadian dollars).

International payments should be made to CMU using Flywire.
