The Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) made a list of the best medical, pharmacy, and dentistry schools in the country using its Discipline-based Rating System or D-SETARA. This rating assesses the quality of teaching and learning of a certain field of study.

This is the list of the best Medical Pharmacy and Dentistry universities in Malaysia.

AIMST University

The AIMST University Medical programme is presented on the clinically integrated prospectus accompanied by major medical schools in the United Kingdom and also integrates local requirements specified by the Malaysian Medical Council. The medical programme which lasts for 5-years, is carried out totally within the State.

University of Malaysia

University of Malaysia, (UM) offers specializations particularly in Medical and education fields that other universities in Malaysia may lack. UM maintains the highest standards in education for all courses they offer. New details in research has reinforced the position in local and foreign publications and citations.

International Medical University (IMU)

International Medical University (IMU) has dedicated focus in healthcare education over the past 22 years. IMU received a 5-tier ranking in the SETARA rating by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) in 2011. Lecturers at IMU are highly-qualified in their fields of proficiency with extensive experience. Senior faculty members take part in yearly quality assurance reviews which ensures that IMU’s benchmarks global standards.

Monash University

The Monash University has received certification from the Australian Medical Council (AMC) for its MBBS of course of Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences. This makes it the first medical course fully conducted in Malaysia to be qualified by a foreign medical accreditation council.

Cyberjaya University College of Medical Science

The Cyberjaya University College of Medical Science (CUCMS)’s Faculty of Medicine has been in existence for the past 10 years in the country. The faculty has produced 7 batches of medical graduates since its establishment. It offers a medical program that pursues student-centered learning method. It received a 5-tier rating by the MQA in 2011.

Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM)

UKM, also called the National University of Malaysia (NUM) is located at Bangi, Selangor, about 35km south of Kuala Lumpur. This university boasts of a teaching hospital called the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre (UKMMC), located in Cheras. UKM also has a branch campus located in Kuala Lumpur.

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM)

This university has been noted as the APEX University by the Ministry of Higher Education. USM was recognized as the university with the most potential for excellence in innovation and research. USM is renowned for long-term innovative plans, revolutionary research, and sustainable facilities. Their devotion to quality and their programs offered has earned them Malaysian Qualifications Agency verification status.

University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS)

University Malaysia Sarawak was established in 1992, with its two pioneering faculties – Faculty of Social Science and the Faculty of Resource Science and Technology.

Over the years, the university grew with four more faculties opening and an increasing number of staff and students. Presently, the university has 14 institutes and support centres that ensures smooth studies and research for the students and staff.

UCSI University

UCSI University kicked off as the Canada Institute of Computer Studies, a computer-based training center in SS2, Petaling Jaya. In 1989, it changed its name to Sedaya College when it was given College status, and later, Sedaya International College to mirror its growing international focus. In 2003, it advanced to University College and University in 2008.
