In this post, we are going to look at the application deadlines/timelines of various universities in Norway, Slovenia and Hungary.
Application deadlines in Norway
For most of the universities in Norway, there’s usually one admission deadline. Also note that all the universities in Norway are tuition free.
Please endeavor to submit your admission application before 1st March for academic programs beginning in the fall semester (September). If you are a Nordic student, you can submit your application before the 15th of April. For more info on how to apply to Norwegian universities, click here:
Application deadlines in Slovenia
The Slovenian Higher Education Act stipulates that all institutions announce their pre-enrollment dates for undergraduate studies usually six months before the beginning of the new academic year. For post graduate studies, universities must announce the pre-enrollment date at least 3 months before the beginning of the new academic year.
Also note that In Slovenia, the academic year begins sometime in October and ends in September of the following year. The winter semester starts in October and runs until mid-January, while the summer semester runs from mid-February to the end of May.
As a general rule, this is the breakdown of the three application periods:
- From February to March
- In August
- In October

Application deadlines for universities in Hungary
15 February: for studies beginning in the fall semester :15 November: for studies beginning in the spring semester
For study programs and courses whose language of instruction is English, the application deadlines may vary largely. In general, international students are requested to submit their applications one semester in advance before the beginning of the course. In Hungary, the fall semester spans from the first fortnight of September to the end of January. The spring semester starts in the first fortnight of February and lasts until the end of June.
