Admission

Application process
All applicants both local and international are encouraged to apply electronically through their online portal for study programmes. Please do well to complete the online application step by step, and upload all required documents. The moment your online application is complete, your application documents will be duly evaluated. Per programmes in Design, in addition to the documents mentioned above, it is required to submit a portfolio of works. Afterwards, this is followed by an admissions interview. Please see below all documents required to complete your application.

- University certificates and transcripts – if necessary

- Portfolio with 10 works – for design programs and Architecture only

Generally, annual tuition fee is 7,200€ per annum including a one-time registration fee of 100€. EU-citizens can pay the fees monthly (600€ per month) while non-EU citizens are expected to pay the tuition fee at the start of the semester (3,600€). The total fee for six semesters is therefore 21,700 €. Accordingly, the price in Architecture for eight semesters is 28,800 €.
The prices of their MA program are 19,200 € for 4 semesters and 12,000 € for 2 semesters. The distinction between the two MA variants can be found on the program page
Language requirements
Requirements:
All programs are delivered in English. As such, you only need a proof of your English skills, no German knowledge is required.
Say your language skills are at a B2 level or above,you will need one of the following language test scores or certificates which will be adequate for you to register and start the first year of study at Berlin International:

Scholarships
- Important information:
Berlin International awards scholarships that reduces 25% reduction of your tuition fee. A scholarship is generally awarded for an academic year and covers the 12 months of a fall term and a spring term. You can apply for a scholarship if you have been admitted to one of the study programs in the two weeks following the official start of the fall term. Re-application is equally possible. All applications should be sent in to the Students Affairs Office.

- CV
- New Students: Letter of reference
- Copy of last school certificate (for 1st semester students)
- OIS-Transcript of Records (for 2nd semester students and higher)
- Design students: Portfolio
- The criteria of selection are usually motivation and academic excellence.
- Procedure of decision-making:
- The Dean of the Faculty of Design and the Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration reviews the applications and does a written report that includes a ranking for the applicants of each Faculty.
- These reports are sent in to the President who makes the final decision based on the results of the reports submitted to him. Once review is completed, all applicants will be informed about the outcome of the evaluation.
- All winners of the scholarships are personally called by the President to sign the terms and conditions of the scholarship.

This runs for the first two weeks of October of each year. The results are announced within four weeks
How to study in Germany?
Generally,the application process for international students is simple and straightforward. What you have to do before applying is to check the criteria necessary to attend university in Germany. Also you will be required to check whether you require a student visa plus other documents. Financial support
Please note that the German federal government has an arrangement that awards student loans for German students who are in need of financial support. Thanfully, only a portion of each loan has to be paid back. Every student who applies for financial support is evaluated individually, according to the laid down criteria. International students on the other hand are able to apply for financial support when they begin their programs. Students who have lived in Germany for a number of years, may also qualify for this financial support. Once the study programs of Berlin International have started, the university will also provide its own BAföG counseling to students. An application is possible both before and after applicants have started their studies at Berlin International
