Low Tuition University: Concordia University College of Alberta and how to apply

concordiaThere are numerous reasons to apply for admission in Canada. As a student you can work and study as well as settle and work after graduation. Today, we will be taking a special look at Concordia University College of Alberta, one of the low/cheap tuition universities in Canada. We will review the admission process, requirements as well as tuition fees for international students.

Application Process

Concordia University College Alberta has an online application which makes the application process relatively easy and less stressful.  Note that your application will not be reviewed until the international student application fee of $90.00 is paid.

English Language Requirements

Since English is the official language of instruction at theUniversity, all international students hoping to apply to any program or course of study and whose first language is not English must fulfill the English Language Requirement regardless of citizenship or country of origin.

  1. Submit Your Documents

International student applicants should be sure to submit the following documents in order to complete their application:

  • Evidence that you can fulfill the English Language Requirements  such as official proficiency exam results
  • Certified official transcripts  from any high school and post-secondary institutions you have attended
  1. Apply for a Study Permit

Once you’ve submitted all, Concordia will notify successful international student in writing of their admissions.  Eligible international students are issued an Offer of Admission and Letter of Acceptance for Citizenship and Immigration Canada. These letters are normally submitted to the Canadian Consulate in the applicant’s home country to obtain a study permit.

  1. Pay the Pre-registration Deposit

When registration opens for the academic year, eligible international students can proceed to register. Registration deposits are paid at the time of registration. The international registration deposit of $2,500 CDN is required to secure the class schedule you have chosen.

  1. Set up Medical Insurance

International students are required to have medical insurance coverage that is effective throughout their time in Canada. All international students are automatically included in the Students’ Association Health & Dental Plan. This plan provides insurance for Prescription Drugs, Dental, Vision, and much more. Students can opt out of this coverage after providing proof that they have coverage from another insurance provider.
